Rise Up

and Become

The Person you were designed to be.

The Bill Maness Good Samaritan Scholarship celebrates and encourages Atlanta high school seniors to rise above their personal and financial challenges in order to help those in need.

The Scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating, college-accepted senior who has a financial need, decent grades, a strong determination to start and finish college, and is willing to accept a Mentor who will walk alongside, encourage, and guide their ‘Scholar’ for all four years.

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give. Winston Churchill

MENTORING = Moments that matter…guidance, encouragement, listening, emotional support, motivation, role modeling, enthusiasm, constructive feedback.

About

This Scholarship pulls from the story of the Good Samaritan.

Martin Luther King’s thought on the Good Samaritan:

“I imagine that the first question the priest and Levite asked was: 'if I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?' But by the very nature of his concern, the good Samaritan reversed the question: 'if I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?"

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Benjamin Franklin
